Hope Counselling

         Offering  Hope

                     to the  Community

Sometimes life throws unexpected and horrible things our way. It can take a lot of courage to begin to talk to someone about life’s difficulties, but deciding to engage in counselling can often be a step which offers renewed hope. Counsellors are used to seeing people in distress and have been trained to remain calm and make a safe space for you. Geoff counsels individuals and couples.

The Counsellor

Geoff Donnison has a Diploma of Higher Education in counselling and regularly undertakes supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with professional requirements.

Geoff is on the Accredited Register of the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) as a Registered Accredited Counsellor, abiding by the 'Ethics and Practice' of the ACC: you can check Geoff out on the Accredited Register (ACC).

Geoff has trained in a wide variety of counselling approaches, tailored as required to the needs of individual clients. Counselling is never about imposing the counsellor's own views on a client, allowing the person to fully express their own view of the world; however, as a qualified counsellor who is a Christian, Geoff is able to explore in depth aspects of Christian faith with clients if that is their desire. Geoff is happy to counsel people of all faiths and none.

The Setting for the Counselling

Counselling sessions take place in a comfortable and private room at Himley Road Methodist Church. Geoff is a member of the church.

What are the Costs?

The full price of an hour long session is £30 with the option for couples of a ninety minute session for £40. However, if this is not considered to be affordable, then discussions will take place regarding an acceptable contribution; we do not want anyone to feel excluded as a result of it being unaffordable. In all cases, an initial assessment will be offered free of charge without obligation.
