Definition of a Quilt

A multi layered textile defined by 3 layers, 2 layers of material with a soft wadding in between to provide warmth, stitched together by hand or sewing machine.

Over 100 quilts made over a number of years will be on display in the Church and Halls, by 6 quilting friends, Daphne, Jasmine, Jayne, Linda, Merna and Sue.

All the quilts have been made to be used on beds, wall hangings or throws. Some have been made to celebrate or remember special occasions. We all have our favourite colours that we work with, and different styles of modern or traditional quilts.

We all learn from each other, share ideas and encourage each other when it is not going to plan. Occasionally we go on workshops or visit Quilt Shops and Exhibitions. The NEC hosts the largest show in Europe where some of us have exhibited our quilts.

We have displayed our quilts to raise money for charity over the last few years. This time we are hoping to receive donations towards the purchase of a defibrillator to be installed on the Church premises for use by the community.

At the show, in addition to the display of quilts, we will have a sales table of quilted and craft items. We will also have demonstrations of CPR and how to use a Defibrillator.

A drink and a cake are included in the donation which will be a minimum of £5 per person. A defibrillator will cost around £1300 so please give generously.

There is a car park at the rear of the church, off Chapel Walk.
