When not being used for church activities, the church buildings are available for occasional hire for members of the local community who want to hold private functions such as family gatherings or childrens birthday parties. Subject to availability groups may also hire the building to host their own activities on a regular basis.
Facilities
There is a car park for 40 vehicles plus 3 designated disabled spaces with level access to the building which is wheelchair friendly.
The main church hall is approximately 13 metres long and 10.6 metres wide with a ceiling height of 3 metres. There is a smaller connected room 8.6 metres long and 5 metres wide with double doors: this room is 2.5 metres high. Both rooms have carpet tiled floors. Approximately 100 stacking chairs are provided as are 12 large (1.8m x 0.76m) folding tables which will seat 6-8 people. Smaller childrens chairs and 9 small tables (1.1m x 0.55m) are also available.
An ajoining kitchen has washing up facilities and instant hot water dispenser for drinks. It is rated exempt from the food hygene regulations so any food consumed must be brought in or supplied by professional caterers. There are Wheelchair accessible toilet facilities and baby changing provision.
Costs
We aim to make use of our facilities affordable to the local community, but also need to consider the running costs and necessary upkeep of the buildings. The charge to hire the hall for occasional events is £25 per hour. A discounted rate of £20 per hour is available to those who arrange regular bookings.
There is no formal charge for the use of the hall for members and regular attenders of Himley Road Methodist Church, as you are already contributing to the life of the church. However, you may like to make a donation towards the on-going cost of upkeep.
Booking Conditions
The Methodist church of Great Britain and our local Church Trustees have certain rules about what is allowed to take place on their premises, these are provided for your information in the Full Terms and Conditions document and our Safeguarding Policy which can be downloaded below. You should ensure you can meet these conditions as a first step. If you are happy to comply with the terms and conditions and your chosen date and time are available (see our website calendar in the first instance) then contact the Property Secretary.
